Methane Levels in the Atmosphere Spike

                Staff Reporter Alex Batchelor
Carbon emissions have always been high and people are working to reduce them because of climate change. Although there is another dangerous gas with increasing levels: methane. Levels of methane have increased faster than at any point in the past two decades. Methane traps 28 times more heat than carbon dioxide. The surge was first noticed in 2007, and since then levels have gotten much worse. Rice production and livestock both emit dangerous amounts of methane into the atmosphere.
