Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian of all time, was born on June 30, 1985 (age 31). He has competed at five Olympics, but he has only medaled at four of those. That may not sound like much, but at those four Olympics, Phelps has earned twenty-eight medals total. Twenty-three of those medals are gold, three silver, and just two bronze. On top of those twenty-eight medals, Phelps has also earned the world record for the two-hundred meter freestyle and the two-hundred meter individual medley. But could a swimmer this good really be done at the age of 31? I guess we will have to wait four more years to see if Phelps is really serious about his retirement.
