Riley Dance Marathon

Staff Reporter Bre Tharp
On Friday, March 17, the Monrovia High School National Society hosted a Riley Dance Marathon in the Middle School Gym. This event is a fundraiser for Riley Children’s Hospital. The purpose for this dance marathon is to dance for the kids who can’t. The Dance Marathon lasted from 5pm to 8pm. All of the dancers were not allowed to sit for the entire 3 hours. To help raise even more funds, there was a fee to pay if one chose to sit. There was pizza, breadsticks, cookies and drinks served at the event. The DJ kept the event alive throughout the entire 3 hours. Various line dances and dance party songs were played. A current patient at Riley Children’s Hospital attended the dance marathon and shared her story. The National Honor Society’s $3,000 fundraising goal was exceeded that night. The grand total number of funds raised was $3,042.60! Awesome Job! Thanks to everyone that attended and donated for the kids! #FTK
