Steven Pratt's Plead Guilty

After completing a sentence of thirty years in prison for murder, Steven Pratt is sentenced to twenty-five years in a maximum security prison days later. Pratt was first charged with murder when he was only fifteen years old after a dispute with his neighbor ended fatally after Pratt shot and killed his only father-figure. Pratt's merciless murder record did not end there; after being released from prison for less than two days, his mother was soon found dead with trauma to the head and her son was whisked off to court to plead guilty.

Ted Cruz's Eligibility

Ted Cruz's eligibility for president is being determined in court. The Constitution clearly states, "No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States" but it is unclear in Cruz's case, because he was born to a US-citizen mother in Canada. The issue of deciding what it means to be a "natural-born" citizen is still "unsettled" which is a great issue, because many people differ on the problem. Initially, constitutional lawyers agreed that Ted Cruz was eligible for the presidency until the debates became heated and caused the case to become even more fuzzy.

French Cafe Review

On February 18th, the Monrovia High School French department put on their annual French cafe. The theme this year was A Night In Paris. Many decorations were set up in order to portray this theme with an impressive cardboard Arc de Triumph, blue paper covering the lights to simulate night, twinkle and Christmas lights to simulate stars, and other smaller decorations that tied the whole thing together. As always, many French foods were served at reasonable prices. Overall, the cafe brought in around $820 with expenses ranging in about the $200 area. This still leaves about $620 profit for future cafes and other humanitarian projects. Of course, with there being 2 cafes, there is always a competition so let us know which cafe you think was better, Spanish or French.

FBI Vs. Apple

The FBI arrested two shooters in December, and now have reason to arrest more. There is an 18 minute gap in the FBI’s timeline for the crime. According to the Fourth Amendment (reasonable cause, judge’s permission, and specific search) they have everything they need to search on of the criminal’s phone, but there's only one thing stopping them: a passcode.

Apple is known for their safe products! The FBI has requested that Apple builds a program that can override codes without deleting the contents of the phone. Apple argues that they cannot risk the security of their customers. The chance that a criminal gets their hands on the program is enough to scare Apple into defying the Federal Bureau.

Ivory Ella

GOOD CLOTHES FOR A GOOD CAUSE™Ivory Ella

BECAUSE OF YOU, OVER $285,000 HAS BEEN DONATED TO SAVETHEELEPHANTS.ORG & OTHER CAUSES.

Ivory Ella is a clothing line that has evolved into an online store. With each purchase you help save elephants! Honestly, the clothing is pretty great. The shirts are extremely soft, have a lot of variety to choose from, and you do not have to get clothes! Ivory Ella has other items like water bottles, hats, necklaces, flip flops, besides their wonderful shirts. Cost may be more expensive than your liking but let me tell you, it is soooo worth it! While it may take a bit to get your order it is well worth the cost and the wait! A reason it may take awhile to get an order is because everything that is new that is released sells out within minutes! Not only will you have cute shirts, but your friends can get matching ones too so you can be ¨twinsies¨!

The New Hampshire Primaries

The results from the New Hampshire primaries were very surprising. The Granite State brought an underdog republican, Kasich, out of the woodwork to end up in the number two spot. Jeb Bush came back in the race slightly with 11% of the republican votes surprising everyone who had discounted him. Cruz and Rubio stayed static with lower vote counts. Donald Trump took the lead, but only with 30%. The republican vote is obviously split. On the democratic side, Bernie DOMINATED the polls and left Hilary in the dust!!!
