Ted Cruz's Eligibility

Ted Cruz's eligibility for president is being determined in court. The Constitution clearly states, "No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States" but it is unclear in Cruz's case, because he was born to a US-citizen mother in Canada. The issue of deciding what it means to be a "natural-born" citizen is still "unsettled" which is a great issue, because many people differ on the problem. Initially, constitutional lawyers agreed that Ted Cruz was eligible for the presidency until the debates became heated and caused the case to become even more fuzzy.
