Giant Panda Wildlife Conservation Volunteering

Staff Reporter Alex Batchelor

The Animal Care Project is a great trip and experience for anyone interested in animal care and wildlife conservation. Although the large mammals are in captivity, they are not to be treated as pets. During your time volunteering you will stay at a place within walking distance of the center. The project is available for 1 week if you cannot stay for 4 weeks. There are also high school programs in China for students still in school. It is located in Dujiangyan, and you will work as an assistant. The first day there you will receive training and be educated about the pandas you will be working with. You would be preparing food, cleaning enclosures, and observing panda behavior. Taking part in this project will help you learn more about the habits and lives of the giant pandas.
