The Bulldog Fetch would like to welcome Tasha Beijer to our high school! Tasha is a foreign exchange student who is visiting from the Netherlands. She decided to start this exciting adventure for a multitude of reasons such as improving her English, receiving a break from her schooling in the Netherlands, and for the enriching experience.
When visiting a new country, surprises of culture are bound to happen. The first cultural shock that Tasha experienced was that Monrovia utilizes less technology in the classrooms compared to her school in the Netherlands, and the speed that students read aloud in class is much slower. The final major cultural difference for Tasha was that Monrovia has sports teams through the school, very uncommon in the Netherlands.
Tasha is glad for the change in the way sports are approached. During her stay in Monrovia she will be playing on the volleyball team! Another positive experience she has had is that the people she has interacted with are friendly and welcoming. Tasha is glad that she chose to take part in this wonderful adventure, and Monrovia is glad that they have the opportunity to host such a lovely person. Welcome to Monrovia Tasha!
