The Monrovia Band earned a Gold rating this past Friday night
completing the final piece necessary to receive their 10th ISSMA All-Music
Award. In order to receive this honor, a school must receive Gold ratings in
marching band, jazz band, concert band, and send at least one soloist and one
ensemble to the ISSMA Solo and Ensemble State Finals. MHS did receive marching Gold in October, jazz in March, concert on Friday and sent 13 soloists
and six ensembles to State Finals this year. This also marks the seventh
year in a row to receive an All-Music Award.
