Soldier Has to Carry Picture of a Puppy He Drowned.

Staff Reporter Linsey McCloud
John Burrow a soldier of Fort Bragg intentionally drowned his 8-month-old puppy, Riley, back in 2015. Police had said he tied up the puppy and threw Riley into the MacFayden Pond in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The puppy washed up on shore January 2nd, 2015. John had told the police the dog had ran from home several times and he couldn’t afford the vet bills after the dog got hurt. John’s neighbors were furious especially the ones who have given John a couple hundred dollars to help pay the vet bills. As of Tuesday Cumberland County Superior Judge Jim Ammons sentenced John to 30 days in jail and 100 hours of community service. He also is not allowed to have a pet for 5 years. Jim Ammons last sentence was for John to carry a picture of Riley in his wallet.
