Everyday teens deal with stress from school, family, friends, extracurricular activities, jobs, and planning for their future. Studies show that teen stress is on the rise. Adults and teens were asked to rank their stress on a scale of 1-10. On average adults ranked their stress at 5 while the average for teens was 6. The teens also said that their stress was not healthy but that they did not know how to safely handle it.
Stress has a very negative impact on health. Stress disrupts sleep, causes emotional problems, reduces concentration, and lowers the strength of the immune system. The best way to deal with stress is to eat healthy meals, try to get more sleep, and exercise regularly. This will help improve your immune system and help you relieve stress.Staff Reporter Alex Realey
